Hooks and flying
Fire a hook with G or H, hold the key to be pulled toward it, and hold Space to boost.

- G fires the left hook, H the right hook. Hold the key to stay hooked, release it to pull the hook back.
- Hooks fly where you look, up to 250 blocks.
- They stick to blocks, creatures, players, and Titans. Hooking a creature or a player hurts it a little and pushes it away.
- They pass through water, lava, and tall plants like grass, ferns, and flowers.
- With the grassODM rule off, they do not stick to grass, dirt, mud, and sand.
You cannot fire hooks while riding, while handcuffed, or with Weakness V or worse.
Moving
Section titled “Moving”| Do this | To |
|---|---|
| Hold a hook key | Be pulled toward that hook. |
| Hold both hook keys | Be pulled toward the point between the two hooks, faster. |
| Hold Space while hooked | Boost: you speed up. |
| A / D while hooked | Orbit around the hook. |
| Forward + Space in the air | Climb (with realisticODM on). |
| Double-tap Sneak while hooked | Lock the wires: the hooks stay without holding the keys. Sneak again or press a hook key to let go. |
When you let go in the air, you keep your speed for 4.5 seconds, slowing down to nothing. Landing stops it.
With the realisticODM rule on (the default):
- Hanging on the wire swings like a pendulum.
- Orbiting only works while you boost.
- The faster you go, the more the air slows you down.
- Flying fast into glass or glass panes smashes them.
When the gear jams
Section titled “When the gear jams”A jammed gear shows “ODM jammed!” and its hooks do not fire for a moment.
- Thrown by a Titan shifter (Attack, Armored, Beast, or Female): 2 seconds.
- A player in Attack, Armored, or Female Titan form sneaks while you are hooked on their Titan: the wire breaks (“Wire broke!”).
- The Female Titan can yank the wires off her body: 5 seconds.
- In the rain, with the weatherAffectsODM rule on: a 5% chance every second, for 2 to 5 seconds.
All the numbers of the gear (pull, boost, orbit, range, and momentum) can be changed: see Settings.
