Pure Titans

Pure Titans roam Paradis, outside the districts. Their body ignores normal damage: only the nape kills them (see The nape). Every kind is listed at the end of the page.

Where they spawn

• Only in Paradis, by day as well as by night. Never inside a district or on the walls.
• At most 8 Titans around at once, plus 4 for each extra player in that world. At most one appears per tick.
• They never despawn on their own (except the Crawler Titan).
• The Pure Titan Spawn Egg spawns a random kind.

How they hunt

• They go after the nearest player, villager, wandering trader, or pillager within their sight (40 to 120 blocks depending on the kind, and at most 30 blocks above or below). Players in Creative or Spectator mode are left alone.
• With a cloak’s hood up, Pure Titans notice you only at two thirds of their usual distance.
• They hit back at whoever hurts them. Villagers run from them; pillagers fight them.
• At night, most of them sleep: their AI stops and they forget their target until morning (each one picks its own hours). The Abnormals, Falco’s Pure Titan, the Ogre Titan, Small Titan 2, and the Yellow Titan never sleep. The full moon does not change this.
• They take no fall damage. A Pure Titan that touches a Titan shifter hurts it: 10 damage every 2 seconds.

Grab and eat

1. The Titan reaches out with an arm, or winds up and swipes. A hand that touches you while you move slowly always catches you. When you move fast, it is a matter of luck (see Difficulty).
2. It holds you for a few seconds (depending on the difficulty), then lifts you to its mouth.
3. It eats you for 3 seconds: a bite every half second, 3 damage each. If you are still alive, it spits you out.

The Titan drops you if someone blinds it (hits its eye), cuts the arm that holds you, cuts a heel, or kills it. A Pure Titan that finishes eating a shifter who dies takes the power: it turns into a villager who carries it (see Getting a power).

Rules that make them harder

unfairPureTitans (off by default) doubles their bites, and the player being eaten can no longer cut that Titan’s nape or hit its eye. titanGore (on by default) throws pieces of the victim around. See Game rules.
